After four months off the court due to a right wrist injury Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, the number one tennis player, said it will make his comeback on 2026 US Open.
His 23-year-old first absence from the court since April has prevented the Frenchman from competing in the French Open and Wimbledon, as well as Toronto and Cincinnati on the hard courts.
He initially planned to compete in Cincinnati, but elected to give his wrist more time.
Alcaraz declared on his social networks: "Here we go" and made it known to everyone that he is traveling to New York and will begin defending his Grand Slam from the United States, having won the tournament in 2025.
The US Open 2026 takes place from August 30- September 13 in New York. For the tournament and their fans the fact that it is alcaraz who is making his comeback from his injury break is huge news.
