Protests against caste based reservation started in Jantar Mantar, Delhi. However, Delhi Police said that permission for the demonstration was given at Ramlila Maidan. In many videos viral on social media, it is seen that a crowd is present near Jantar Mantar. In the other video, a crowd of people is moving towards the protest site. The social media platform 'Remove Reservation Hatao Andolan' had given a call for protest.

In a video, Swami Anand Swarup is sitting on the road with people. He wrote on his X account, 'I have reached Jantar Mantar. Sir, PM send the messenger, now talks should start on reservation, SC-ST Act and UGC roll back. On the other hand, Delhi Police has tightened security around Jantar Mantar. Additional police forces were deployed.

Some crowd had gathered at Jantar Mantar on Friday morning. However the police removed them. On the other hand, in the viral video on social media, a large crowd is seen near Jantar Mantar. The police have barricaded. Every visitor is not only being monitored but also being investigated.

Delhi Police said in a letter that for the 'Remove Reservation Movement', permission has been given to hold a peaceful protest with a maximum of 500 people at Ramlila Maidan till 4 pm on August 21. Police further said that no procession or stopping there is allowed. The guidelines of police officers will have to be followed from time to time. Violation may result in cancellation of NOC.

Ajit Bharti, a supporter of the movement and very vocal on social media, objected to changing the venue of the protest. He wrote, 'Why Amit Shah ji, this is your police? Permission was sought from Jantar Mantar. The demand was made a month ago and on the day when the protest is to take place, at 12 o'clock Delhi Police is telling that permission is being given for Ramlila Maidan. That too till four o'clock and for 500 people! Is there no space for 500 people at Jantar Mantar? Try every trick, but people are not going to stop.
