Good news for rural poor families in UP, government gave a big gift!

Lucknow. Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Gramin has brought great relief to the poor families living in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance to eligible families to build permanent houses.

The government has set a target of building 1.16 lakh new houses in the financial year 2026-27. A budget of about Rs 1,400 crore has been kept for this. Till now, about 5.87 lakh families have got the benefit of housing under this scheme.

Who will get the benefit?

In the scheme, priority is given to deprived sections like Musahar, Vantangiya, Nat, Sapera, Jogi, Basfor, Basod and Dharkar along with houseless, poor families living in kutcha houses. Disabled persons, disaster affected families and destitute widow women can also avail benefits as per eligibility.

How much amount will you get?

Let us tell you that under this scheme, assistance up to Rs 1.20 lakh is given for construction of houses in normal areas, while assistance up to Rs 1.30 lakh is given in difficult areas.

How to apply?

Eligible families can complete the application process by contacting the village head, BDO or project director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA). Do not give money to any person in the name of getting the benefits of the scheme and beware of fake calls or messages.
