With the start of the new academic session, Google has launched a big offer for students to its AI assistant, Gemini. The company has announced that eligible college students can now use Gemini's paid plans for a full year for free. The offer is already live and along with it, Google has also introduced a special “Student Hub” in the Gemini app. This is the same premium plan for which common users spend hundreds of rupees every month. Let us know what is special in this plan and how students can benefit from it.

What's included in the free plan?

Google's special student plan isn't just a simple chatbot; It is specially designed to make the learning process easier. Through this, students can create not only text but also high-quality videos, images and graphics. Additionally, compared to regular free users, this plan offers double the search and usage limits, ensuring that resources are not drained during large projects.

Plus, you get a generous 400 GB of storage space for Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos. It also includes a new AI Study Hub, where students can visualize and understand complex physics or math concepts through interactive 3D models. Additionally, the in-built features of Gmail and Google Docs will make creating notes very easy.

How to avail the offer?
According to official information from Google, to avail this offer, students will have to verify their eligibility before December 31, 2026. To do this, students need to visit the official “Google Gemini for Students” page or the short link provided by Google: goo.gle/studentdeal. Here, you'll need to verify your identity using your college ID or official college email address. Once verification is successful, the Google AI Plus plan for 12 months will be activated on your account. This plan is free for one year only.

Google has clarified that after the one-year free period is over, the plan will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless the student cancels it. Therefore, students who do not wish to continue this service as a paid offering must cancel their subscription before the end of the year; Otherwise, money will be automatically deducted from their account. Google has taken this step soon after the number of monthly active users of Gemini crossed one billion (1 billion). The company aims to bring more and more students to its platform during the 'back-to-school' season.
