Fans may not have to wait too long to see the £85m signing in action.
Tottenham are edging closer to bringing in Savinho as their next summer recruit, and supporters may get a first look at him sooner rather than later.
Spurs have admired the Brazilian for a long time and had previously tried, but failed, to sign the winger last summer.
Now, 12 months later, the transfer finally appears close to being completed, with reports saying an initial fee of £75million has been agreed with Manchester City, potentially rising to £85m through add-ons.
Tottenham have spent the whole summer in discussions over Savinho, so when might he play his first minutes for the club?
Savinho is on his way to Spurs.
The new Premier League season begins on Friday night, meaning there is a deadline for Savinho to be registered as a Spurs player before their opening match away at Brentford.
If the fee with Manchester City has indeed been agreed, as reports indicated late on Thursday night, Savinho is expected to undergo his medical and complete the final steps of the move on Friday.
If Spurs want Savinho included in the squad to face Brentford on Saturday evening, the Brazilian must be registered by 12pm on Friday.
That is the cut-off for new signings to be registered in time for the weekend fixtures.
If that deadline is not met, Savinho could instead make his debut against Charlton in the Carabao Cup next Wednesday, or against Newcastle in the Premier League the following weekend.
There is little concern within Spurs about Savinho's fitness, with Manchester City having used the winger prominently during pre-season.
