Ingredients for making Makhana Khichdi

  • Fox Nut

How to make Makhana Khichdi

step 1- To make Makhana Khichdi, first cut the Makhanas into small pieces. After this, prepare potatoes and green chillies by finely cutting them. Now take a pressure cooker and add some ghee in it and heat it on medium flame. When the ghee is hot, add chopped potatoes and green chillies and fry while stirring for a few minutes.

Step 2- When the potatoes start becoming light golden and soft, then add chopped makhana to it and mix well. Now add rock salt as per taste and fry everything for about 1-2 minutes. After this, add water as per requirement and close the lid of the cooker. Cook on medium flame till 1-2 whistles.

Step 3- After the pressure is released, open the cooker and mix the khichdi well. If you want, you can add some lemon juice and green coriander on top. Delicious and nutritious Makhana Khichdi is ready, which you can eat as a fruit dish during the fast of Sawan.
