Nagaram Police showed promptness and saved a young man who was attempting suicide by jumping into Indira Canal from drowning. The police pacified the youth and handed him over to his family members.
According to the police, information was received from the villagers on Friday that a youth had jumped into the Indira Canal and was drowning. As soon as the information was received, the police team of Nagaram police station reached the spot and safely pulled out the youth who was drowning in the canal. The age of the young man is about 25 years and he is a resident of Kanchankheda Majra Samesi.
During interrogation, the young man told that he was upset due to a love affair and that is why he attempted suicide. The police explained to the youth and later handed him over to his family. Seeing the young man safe, the family heaved a sigh of relief and appreciated the promptness of Nagaram police.
The police team that rescued the youth included sub-inspector Himanshu Pandey, sub-inspector Rakesh Kumar Mishra and constable Pawan Kumar Yadav.
