During search, a bloody body was found on the hill; Villagers erupted in anger

Sawai Madhopur. A painful incident shocked the entire area late Thursday evening in Dumoda village adjacent to Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Three year old innocent Dilkhush Bairava, who was playing outside the house, was picked up by the leopard and taken towards the forest. The mother chased the leopard to save her son, but could not catch it. During this time she became unconscious due to shock. After searching for about two and a half hours, the villagers found the child in a bloody condition on the hill. The villagers took him to the district hospital, where the doctors declared him dead after examination. The incident happened late Thursday evening.

According to eyewitness Ramkesh Gurjar, Sanjay Bairava’s three-year-old son Dilkhush was playing in the house. Meanwhile suddenly a leopard came and picked up the child and took him towards the forest. When the mother saw this scene, she ran after the leopard to save her son, but could not succeed. She was so shocked by the incident that she fell unconscious. The villagers immediately reached the forest department post and informed about the incident.

It is alleged that the forest workers said that they would reach the spot within some time, but no team reached for about two to two and a half hours. After waiting, the villagers themselves formed different groups and started searching for the child in the forest. During the search, the child was found seriously injured and bleeding on the hill. He was immediately taken to Sawai Madhopur District Hospital, but doctors declared him dead.

As soon as the news of the child’s death was received, a large number of villagers reached the district hospital. The family members were in bad condition, crying. Dilkhush was the only brother of four sisters. Father Sanjay Bairwa kept crying bitterly outside the hospital out of grief over his son’s death. Seeing the anger of the villagers at the hospital, Mantown and Kotwali police station also reached the spot and tried to handle the situation by convincing the people.

Here, after the death of the innocent, the anger of the villagers flared up further. A large number of villagers reached Phalodi Range Forest Post and created ruckus, protesting against the Forest Department. Meanwhile, the bike of a forest worker parked outside the post was set on fire. On receiving the information, Ravanjana Dungar police station reached the spot and controlled the situation.

However, regarding the incident, Ranthambore Tiger Reserve DFO Manas Singh has given a different version of the villagers’ allegations. He says that the forest department team was present outside the village, but the mob wanted to harm the forest workers. After the police team reached the spot, the forest department team went to the village.

The DFO also alleged that recently the Forest Department had seized tractors of people involved in illegal mining. Due to this rivalry, people of the mining mafia joined the crowd and vandalized the forest range and set the bike on fire. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of tension in the area and police and forest department teams are monitoring the situation. Now the villagers are demanding action from the Forest Department and strengthening the security system.
