Assam Chief Secretary Dr Ravi Kota Gets Second Six-Month Tenure Extension

Guwahati: The service tenure of Assam Chief Secretary Dr Ravi Kota has been extended for another six months, until April 30, 2027. This is the second extension of service for Dr Ravi Kota, as his tenure was earlier extended from May 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026. His superannuation date was April 30, 2026.
Dr Ravi Kota is an IAS officer belonging to the Assam-Meghalaya cadre (1993 batch). He took over charge as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam on April 1, 2024. The Government of India has now approved his extension of service tenure for a second term for a period of six months, from November 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027. The state government is set to issue a notification based on the Centre’s service extension order.
