Bhavnagar lynching: Congress sit-in in Mehsana, demand Home Minister's resignation

Anger has spread across the state over the serious racketeering and sale of spurious liquor in Bhavnagar. Violent sit-ins were organized by the Congress at Mehsana in protest against this incident.
During this protest, Congress leaders and activists attacked the state government and the police system. He alleged that illegal liquor was being sold openly despite the ban on paper, due to which many innocent people lost their lives. A strong demand was made by the Congress for the immediate resignation of the State Home Minister, accepting responsibility for this gross negligence and failure of law and order.
