Tata Motors will increase the ex-showroom price of all its cars in India by Rs 25,000 from September 1, 2026. According to the information of the company, this price change will be applicable in all types of car segments like petrol, diesel, CNG and electric. The decision has been taken due to rising input production costs and inflationary pressures, the company said, adding that the company will bear part of the cost itself.
Although the company has made this announcement for all its passenger vehicle segments, the official list of which models will see the increase is yet to be announced. Tata Motors has predicted a 4.5 percent rise in raw material prices in the first quarter and another 3 percent increase in the second quarter.

Which cars will increase in price??
Tata Motors currently has a large product range available in the market,
- ICE (Fuel Range): Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier, Sierra and the largest SUV Safari.
- Electric range (EV): Tiago EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, Curve EV, Syria EV and Harrier EV.
Main reasons behind the increase:
- Rising prices of raw materials: Rising prices of steel, aluminum and other raw materials have put a lot of pressure on manufacturers.
- Changes in exchange rates: The depreciation of the rupee has increased the cost of imported spare parts.
- Industry Trends: Not only Tata Motors, but other companies have also hiked prices. Hyundai has hiked prices by up to 1 percent from next month, while Maruti Suzuki has hiked prices by up to Rs 30,000 from August.
