Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 widened its lead over Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 on day eight. Awarapan 2 added Rs. 5.50 crore net in India to reach Rs. 119 crore net, with Rs. 141.87 crore gross domestically. Batwara 1947 managed Rs. 75 lakh net, lifting its India net collection to Rs. 34.35 crore as both films entered week two.
Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947 were released last Friday. The former took a lead and, in just five days, crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office. Meanwhile, the Sunny Deol starrer failed to have a good run in its first week. Now, both movies have entered their second week, and while the Emraan Hashmi starrer is still holding very well at the box office, Batwara 1947 collected a dismal amount on its day eight.
