The second Test between Australia and Bangladesh started on Saturday (22 August). Bangladesh had defeated Australia by 9 wickets in the first test played in Darwin. Dejected by this defeat, the Australian team bowled out Bangladesh's first innings in just 34 overs in the second test. Mitchell Starc took 6 wickets while bowling lethally.

Starc wreaked such havoc in his opening spell that half of the Bangladesh team was out for 12 runs. His 4 batsmen could not even open the account. It seemed that she would be out on the lowest score in Test history but the tail batsmen saved her from embarrassment.

Number 11 player highest scorer

After Starc's storm, captain Pat Cummins bowled brilliantly and took the wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim (5) and Mehidy Hasan Miraj (11) and reduced Bangladesh's score to 36/7. After this Josh Hazlewood ended the struggle of Hasan Mahmood (10). Cummins gave the 9th blow to Bangladesh on the score of 39. Bangladesh were in danger of reaching their lowest score in the Test but Shoriful Islam and Taijul Islam took them beyond 43.

Shoriful and Taijul added 25 runs for the last wicket. Shoriful, who landed at number 11, was the team's highest scorer. He scored 14 runs in 19 balls. Whereas Taijul returned unbeaten after scoring 11 runs in 26 balls. Starc took 6 wickets while spending just 12 runs in 10 overs. Cummins had 3 wickets in his account. Hazlewood took 1 wicket.

Australia's innings also fell apart

After defeating Bangladesh cheaply, the Australian team also did not have a good start. Taskin Ahmed gave him the first blow in the form of Matt Renshaw (8). After this, Shorifull removed Travis Head (22) and Marnus Labuschagne (4) in the eighth over, reducing Australia's score to 41/3. Head once again played the ball on his own wickets. He was out in the same manner in both the innings of the first Test. After losing 2 wickets in the same over, Steve Smith and Cameron Green did not allow Australia to suffer any further loss till the tea break and took the score to 53 runs.
