Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially launched the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for Post Graduate Dental (MDS) courses for the 2026–27 academic year by issuing Notice No. 01 to commence online registrations. Candidates who qualified in NEET-MDS-2026 and are seeking admission to State Quota seats across Government, Government-Aided, Municipal Corporation, and Private Unaided Dental Colleges must complete their online registration between August 20 and August 24, 2026, up to 8:00 PM. The deadline for paying registration fees and security deposits is set for August 24 up to 10:00 PM, while colored scanned copies of original documents must be uploaded by 11:59 PM on the same date. The CET Cell emphasized that state registration is mandatory for CAP participation, regardless of whether a candidate registered for the All India Quota counselling.
Candidates Must Register By August 24 For CAP Participation
Online document verification will be conducted on August 25, followed by the publication of the registered candidate list and the provisional merit list on August 26. Candidates will have time until August 27 at 11:59 PM to submit any grievances with necessary supporting proof, leading to the publication of the final merit list and the seat matrix on August 29. The online choice and preference filling process for CAP Round 1 will run from August 30 through September 1 up to 5:30 PM, with the final seat allotment result declared on September 2. Allotted candidates must physically report to their respective institutions between September 3 and September 7 up to 5:30 PM, bringing all original documents and admission fees payable via Demand Draft (DD). While fee payments by cheque are permitted on bank holidays, candidates must replace them with a DD on the next working day to avoid automatic cancellation of their seat. Furthermore, non-resident candidates applying under the 15% NRI quota must complete their registration on the Foreign Candidate Registration Portal before August 23 to establish eligibility. Authorities noted that all announced dates remain subject to modification based on future directives from competent central and state health authorities.
