Weather Update: Rain alert in many states including Delhi-NCR, monsoon will rain from UP-Bihar to Odisha

New Delhi: Monsoon seems to be active once again in many parts of the country and the rainy season is expected to continue for the next few days in many states including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the low pressure area formed in and around the north-eastern part of Madhya Pradesh is still active. Apart from this, many upper atmospheric circulations are also affecting the weather.

Drizzle expected in Delhi

The effect of the monsoon trough in the capital Delhi and the weather system formed in the surrounding areas is being seen. On August 23, the sky may remain cloudy in Delhi and there may be light rain in some areas between morning and afternoon. However, at present there is less possibility of heavy rain in the capital.

How will the weather be in UP and Bihar?

At the same time, there is a possibility of rain continuing in Uttar Pradesh between 22nd to 25th August, especially in the eastern parts. On August 23, there may be heavy rain in some areas of eastern and western UP. In Bihar too, there is a danger of rain along with thunderstorms and strong winds on August 23. At some places the wind speed can reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. Heavy rains are expected in different parts of the state between August 24 and 27.

Heavy rain in Odisha-Chhattisgarh

Along with this, IMD has warned of heavy to very heavy rain in Odisha and Chhattisgarh on August 23. Let us tell you, there may be heavy rain at many places in Odisha between 22nd to 28th August. In Chhattisgarh too, there is a possibility of heavy rain and thundershowers for the next few days.

Weather is bad even in the mountains

Talking about hilly areas, the rainy season may continue in Uttarakhand till August 28. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh. In such a situation, those traveling in hilly areas have been advised to keep an eye on the weather conditions.

New system being built in the Bay of Bengal

According to the Meteorological Department, a new system is developing near North Bay of Bengal and West Bengal-Bangladesh coast. Due to its effect, a low pressure area may form in the next 24 hours, due to which rainfall may increase further in West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar. In South India too, there is a possibility of strong winds along with rain in many states including Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be alert regarding lightning and bad weather in many areas.
