Price Hike: There is important news for customers preparing to buy a new car or electric vehicle from Tata Motors. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPV) has announced that the company will increase the prices of its entire passenger vehicle portfolio from September 1, 2026. Depending on the model and variant, the price of cars can increase by about Rs 25,000.

Which cars will be affected?
Tata Motors has said in its official statement that this increase in prices will be applicable to the entire passenger vehicle portfolio of the company. It includes petrol, diesel and CNG models as well as electric
Vehicles have also been included.

However, not all cars will see the same price increase. The price will vary depending on the model, fuel type and variant selected. According to the company, despite the price revision, attention has been paid to maintaining the overall value of the vehicles.

Why are prices being increased?
The company has cited increasing input cost as the main reason behind increasing the price. The cost of raw materials and various components used in the manufacturing of cars is continuously increasing. Apart from this, inflation and economic pressure in the market is also affecting the company.

Tata Motors says that the company itself is bearing a large part of the rising costs. However, to maintain balanced margins, it has become necessary to pass on a small portion of the cost to customers.

Which Tata models will see price increase?
Tata Motors’ current passenger vehicle portfolio ranges from entry-level hatchbacks to premium SUVs and electric cars. The current ex-showroom price of the company’s cars starts from around Rs 4.7 lakh and goes up to Rs 31 lakh.

The price increase from September 1 may affect models like Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Punch, Nexon, Harrier and Safari. Apart from this, the company’s range of electric cars will also be within the scope of this price increase.

What will be the impact on car buyers?
If you are planning to buy a new car or EV from Tata Motors, then booking or purchasing before September 1 can avail the benefit of the current price. However, the actual savings will depend on which model and variant you choose. Therefore, it would be better to confirm the current and revised price from the concerned dealer before purchasing.
