Bajaj Auto is finally all set to enter the adventure segment with the launch of its first purpose built adventure motorcycle. The bike has been spotted testing several times in India and according to the latest information, it could hit the market before the end of 2026. While the bike is likely to be launched in the Brazilian market first, it could be launched in India during the festive season.

The company is yet to announce an official launch date, but Bajaj Brazil executive director Valdir Ferreira has clarified that customers can get the new on-road/off-road bike as a “Christmas gift” by the end of the year. While the parts development and homologation work for this bike has started in Brazil, testing in India makes it clear that the Indian market is part of their main launch plan.

Design and name

As the company has trademarked the name 'Bajaj Trekker', it is likely that this bike will be given this name, though Bajaj is yet to make the product name official. The design of this bike is similar to that of a traditional adventure-bike. It features a tall front end, beak-style mudguards, fork gaiters, a long single-piece seat and an upward-sloping exhaust.

Hardware and Features

The model spotted during testing uses spoke wheels, which can be 19-inches at the front and 17-inches at the rear. This will provide a good balance for on-road travel as well as light off-roading.

Suspension: Telescopic forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear.

Braking: Disc brakes on both wheels.

Security: A switchable ABS mode is likely to be available

Engine and Performance

In terms of engine, the company has not made any official disclosure, but it is most likely to get the 249 cc air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine from the Pulsar N250. In the Pulsar, this engine generates 24.5 PS of power and 21.5 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Considering the needs of adventure touring, Bajaj may make some changes to its engine mapping and gearing.

Once launched, the motorcycle will directly compete with the likes of Hero Xpulse 210, Yezdi Adventure and Suzuki V-Strom SX. Based on the engine size, Bajaj is expected to price the bike very competitively.
