New Delhi. A student of IIT Delhi has committed suicide. The name of the deceased student is Hrishikesh Kumar and he was a second year student of MSc Physics. He committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of the lecture hall building of the IIT campus. As soon as information about the incident was received, the student was taken to the hospital located on the campus where doctors declared him dead. At present no suicide note has been found from the student. The police have seized his mobile phone. Apart from this, the forensic team also reached the spot and investigated and collected necessary evidence.
Initial investigation has revealed that the student's health had deteriorated some time ago due to which he had to be admitted to the hospital. At present the student was living with his mother in a rented house outside the IIT campus. According to the police, the student had entered the campus from the main gate of IIT Delhi at around 8 am. After this he went to the lecture hall building. After reaching there, he went into the lift and reached the sixth floor, after which he jumped from the building. There are no other marks on the body of the deceased student except the injury caused by falling from the building.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem. At present it is not clear why that student took such a big step like suicide? The police is trying to gather information regarding that student and is also interrogating his classmates. There is also a possibility that the student was in depression due to some reason due to which he ended his life. Police is gathering information about the activities of that student.
