2026 has been a good year for SUVs so far. It started with the Mahindra XUV 7XO, and the latest SUV to be launched in the market is the BMW X1 LWB. The demand for SUVs across almost all segments is on the rise in our market, and that is the reason why brands are aggressively introducing new products and updating existing ones with new features and creature comforts. Here we have a list of 10 new SUVs that are expected to be launched in our market in the next three months.

The upcoming 7-seater electric SUV from MG is likely to be called the Hector Hawk Plus. It is based on the Wuling Starlight EV. The SUV has been officially teased and has also been spotted on our roads. It will be MG’s first product to use the ADAPT multi-NEV (New Energy Vehicle) platform.

The SUV will be offered with features such as a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leatherette upholstery, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera and more.

The SUV is expected to get a 69.2 kWh battery pack powering a front-mounted electric motor. It is expected to produce around 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque while offering a claimed driving range of 530 km.

The official launch of the Kia Sorento Hybrid is scheduled for September 4. The Sorento will be Kia’s flagship SUV and is expected to rival the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner in the segment. The Kia Sorento will feature the same design as the international version.

It will be offered with a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong-hybrid engine with AWD that generates 238 hp and 380 Nm. It will be mated to an automatic transmission. Apart from the strong-hybrid petrol version, Kia will also launch a diesel version with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine.

The Mahindra Thar will be getting a facelift soon. As part of the latest update, Mahindra will offer a revised front grille, Roxx-like projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, new or revised tail lamps and new alloy wheels.

On the inside, Mahindra is expected to offer a digital driver display, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control and ADAS. The SUV will remain mechanically unchanged. It will continue to use the same 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine. Mahindra will continue to offer 4×4 on select variants.

The Honda Elevate facelift is expected to be launched by the end of September or early October this year. It will come with minor revisions to the front and rear, along with additional features over the existing version.

The SUV has been spotted a couple of times, and we expect to see feature additions such as ventilated seats, which were recently introduced with the City facelift. It will continue to use the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and CVT gearbox options.

Chery, in partnership with JSW, will be launching the Jetour T2 SUV in India this year. The SUV has been spotted testing several times, and we have also seen multiple videos of it from international auto journalists. The Jetour T2 gets a boxy SUV design inspired by the likes of the Defender.

It will be offered as a PHEV, and this version uses a 1.5-litre engine paired with a 26.7 kWh battery pack. It is available in both 2WD and AWD versions internationally. The SUV is expected to offer a good balance between performance and efficiency.

After the Sierra EV, Tata will be launching its first-ever seven-seater electric SUV, the Safari EV, around the festive season this year. The exterior design is likely to remain similar to the ICE version, with EV-specific changes.

It is expected to be offered with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery-pack options. The larger battery pack, as seen in the Harrier EV, offers a claimed range of around 622–627 km, while the smaller battery pack delivers around 538 km. Higher variants may also come with an AWD setup.

The PHEV version of the Wuling Starlight 560-based SUV from MG is likely to be called the Tomahawk. It will be a 7-seater SUV based on the same ADAPT architecture. The exterior design of the PHEV version will be slightly different from the EV, and it is also expected to feature a different alloy wheel design.

The Hector Hawk PHEV will offer almost the same features as the EV. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 20.5 kWh battery pack. This setup is expected to produce a combined output of 195 bhp and 230 Nm of torque while offering a pure-electric driving range of 125 km.

The Hyundai Bayon-based SUV for India is currently known as BC4i, and it is a mid-size SUV that would sit between the Venue and the upcoming Creta. The SUV is expected to be launched in the coming months.

Unlike the international-spec Bayon, the India-spec BC4i is expected to feature a more upright and boxy SUV-inspired design. It will come with a connected LED light bar, LED DRLs, stylish alloy wheels, sleek LED tail lamps and several other design elements that give it a strong SUV stance.

The BC4i will be loaded with premium features such as seat ventilation, electric seats, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, ADAS and more. The SUV is unlikely to be offered with a diesel or hybrid powertrain at launch. Instead, it is expected to use the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine found in the Creta.

Hyundai is also expected to offer the BC4i with a factory-fitted underbody CNG kit, making it the brand’s first SUV above the four-metre mark to feature a CNG option.

Maruti’s popular SUV, the Fronx, will be getting a facelift this year as well. It will be offered with a bunch of cosmetic changes on the outside, with red accents on the hybrid variant.

The Fronx is likely to be offered with a bigger infotainment screen, seat ventilation, Level 1 ADAS and more. It is likely to continue with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine options.

Renault launched the Duster this year, and deliveries for the same have also started. Renault is yet to officially launch the hybrid version. It will be offered with a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a strong-hybrid system.

This version is expected to generate around 160 PS and will be one of the most efficient SUVs in the segment. Bookings for the hybrid version had started alongside the regular variants, and they received an overwhelming response, with all units allocated for 2026 already sold out.
