Bayern Munich have taken firm control of their DFB Supercup meeting with rivals Borussia Dortmund ahead of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season.
In the traditional season opener between Germany's two biggest clubs, Borussia Dortmund supporters were left watching a familiar story unfold as Vincent Kompany's side went into the dressing room at half-time fully in command.
Michael Olise's late strike before the interval ensured the in-form Frenchman continued his impressive run for the Bavarian club, but much of the attention was drawn by summer arrival Nathaniel Brown.
On a day when Kompany made the significant call to use the former Eintracht Frankfurt standout in an unfamiliar central attacking role for his first full competitive debut, the Germany international did not take long to begin repaying part of his transfer fee, scoring in the 28th minute.
That goal was Brown's first for his new club, with him filling in for Jamal Musiala, who is still dealing with recent health concerns.
Although he was signed as a long-term option on Bayern's left flank, his display in this match could point to added versatility that Kompany may choose to use over the course of the season.
