The ongoing Shravan month, as per the Hindu calendar (August 13 to September 11, 2026), is characterized by many people observing fasts and avoiding the consumption of alcohol, non-vegetarian food, onion, garlic and even regular table salt. To accommodate the Shravan fasting diet, McDonald's has introduced a Shravan Specials Menu, and the internet cannot keep calm.

Reacting to the Shravan-specific menu at the global fast-food chain, the user wrote, “First in my bloodline to see McDonald's selling upvaas ka khaana.”
The post went viral, with several other users sharing their reactions.

McDonald's confirmed to NDTV Food that the Shravan combos and pairings are currently on the menu. They are also available on the McDelivery app.
The Shravan menu was first launched in 2024.

Food is seen as an important part of devotion during Sawan. Many devotees follow a satvik diet, which focuses on simple, fresh vegetarian food. It is believed to help keep both the body and mind calm while making it easier to focus on prayer.
The rainy season also brings higher humidity, which can increase the chances of food spoiling quickly. That is another reason why freshly prepared meals are preferred.
