Gill Reaches Landmark In 43rd Test

Shubman Gill's Test record already includes 11 centuries and eight half-centuries, with his highest score standing at 269.

His progress has been particularly notable since establishing himself as one of India's leading red-ball batsmen.

By joining the 3,000-run club, Gill has also moved another step closer to the country's most prolific Test run-scorers.

Tendulkar leads India's all-time list with 15,921 runs, followed by Rahul Dravid with 13,265 and Sunil Gavaskar with 10,122.

Virat Kohli, now retired from the format, occupies fourth place with 9,230 runs, while VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag have also crossed 8,000 Test runs.

Gill currently sits 28th among India's Test run-getters, but with plenty of cricket still ahead of him, can easily rise up the ranks in the coming years.
