Manchester United is set to get its Premier League campaign underway against Hull City at the MKM Stadium on Saturday.
The Red Devils’ starting eleven for their first game did not feature Ivory Coast forward Amad Diallo. Mateus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes, Bryna Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu is the attacking quartet starting the match.
Manager Michael Carrick told IN TV that the winger had suffered a slight niggle during training in the build-up to the contest.
“We’ll assess that and see where he’s at. Hopefully it won’t be too long but we’ll have to wait and see,” the manager said.
“He was in a good place, Amad. He was looking sharp; he was obviously looking forward to the season, so it’s disappointing, but unfortunately that’s part of it and we’ve got the squad that we can cope with it.”
United is looking to extend its good run against Carrick that saw the team finish third in the previous Premier League season.
