Sanjay Singh Meets Akhilesh Yadav Ahead of 2027 UP Elections: Is SP-AAP Alliance Next?

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh met Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow on Sunday, August 23. Singh reached the SP headquarters, where the two leaders held a meeting at around 1 pm. The meeting, held ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, is being seen as significant in the state's political circles.
According to sources, the leaders discussed the current political situation in Uttar Pradesh and the upcoming Assembly elections. Speculation is also rife that they discussed the possibility of an electoral alliance between the SP and AAP, including seat-sharing arrangements.
Sources claimed that the AAP is seeking 15 to 20 seats in Uttar Pradesh. However, neither party has issued any official statement on a possible alliance or seat-sharing so far.
The meeting between Sanjay Singh and Akhilesh Yadav has intensified political discussions around a possible SP-AAP alliance in Uttar Pradesh. With the 2027 elections approaching, the meeting is being viewed as important for the future strategy of both parties.
Sanjay Questions UP Education System
After the meeting, AAP leader Sanjay Singh addressed a press conference and raised questions about the education system in Uttar Pradesh.
Singh alleged that five schools in Jaunpur were empty and missing. He also challenged the authorities to locate one of the five schools.
“I will give Rs 1 lakh from my salary to anyone who finds the school,” Singh said.

The meeting between Akhilesh Yadav and Sanjay Singh has triggered fresh speculation about a possible SP-AAP alliance in Uttar Pradesh. However, there is still no clarity on whether the alliance will materialise or how seats would be divided between the two parties.
BJP vs Opposition In 2027
Akhilesh Yadav has been making efforts to prevent the BJP from returning to power in Uttar Pradesh. The SP chief and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are also working together on a strategy to take on the BJP in the 2027 Assembly elections.
The AAP is also seeking to expand its electoral presence in Uttar Pradesh. A possible alliance with the SP could therefore be significant for the party if the two sides manage to win seats together.
