EXO's Baekhyun has reportedly emerged as one of the alleged biggest financial victims in the ongoing controversy involving MC Mong and Chairman Cha Ga-Won. YouTuber Lee Jin-Ho claimed on August 22 that the singer could face losses of around KRW 63 billion, or approximately USD 46 million. The alleged losses are linked to Baekhyun's contract with ONE HUNDRED, a promised luxury property, a lease deposit and unpaid settlements.

How Is Baekhyun Involved In The Controversy?

According to Lee Jin-Ho, the alleged financial losses are connected to Baekhyun's exclusive contract with ONE HUNDRED. The YouTuber also discussed the ongoing tampering allegations involving MC Mong and claimed that the singer was approached while he still had time remaining on his SM Entertainment contract.
Baekhyun, along with fellow EXO members Chen and Xiumin, later became part of the broader dispute involving SM Entertainment and Big Planet Made, the parent company of INB100. Lee Jin Ho claimed that Baekhyun was promised a contract signing fee of around KRW 35 billion, equivalent to approximately USD 25.5 million.
However, instead of receiving the amount in cash,  was allegedly promised a luxury villa at Eterno. The YouTuber claimed that Chairman Cha Ga Won had promised the singer a unit in Eterno Phase 3. According to the claims, Eterno Phase 2 is still under construction, while Phase 3 has not yet been developed. Lee Jin Ho therefore questioned whether the promised property could actually be provided to Baekhyun.

KRW 16 Billion Lease Deposit And Unpaid Settlements

The alleged financial losses reportedly go beyond the contract signing fee. Baekhyun is said to have paid a KRW 16 billion lease deposit after moving into Lanouve Hannam. The YouTuber also cited approximately KRW 12 billion in allegedly unpaid settlements. According to his calculation, the contract amount, lease deposit and unpaid settlements could together amount to around KRW 63 billion in alleged damages. It amounts to USD 46 million or INR 435 crore.
For context, Baekhyun, Chen and Xiumin notified SM Entertainment in June 2023 that they were terminating their exclusive contracts. They cited issues including the alleged failure to provide settlement documents and concerns over the length of their contracts.
The dispute appeared to be resolved after the two sides reached an agreement later that month. However, legal proceedings have since resumed amid allegations that Big Planet Made approached CBX before their existing contracts had expired. The situation has now become part of the wider controversy surrounding MC Mong, Cha Ga Won and the companies connected to the artists.
