Wave of happiness among the cooks of the district due to respect for cooks, increase in honorarium and cashless medical facility.

Under the auspices of the Basic Education Department, the felicitation ceremony of the cooks working under the PM Poshan Yojana and the cashless medical card distribution program was telecast live by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in the Vikas Bhawan Auditorium. MLA Katehari Dharamraj Nishad, Administrator/former President District Panchayat Shyam Sundar Verma alias Sadhu Verma and Chief Development Officer Anand Kumar Shukla, public representatives, officers and a large number of cooks of PM Nutrition Scheme were present in the programme.

During the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the distribution of cashless medical cards for 3.54 lakh mid-day meal cooks of the state with the honor of Karmayogi cooks of the state. There was an atmosphere of enthusiasm and happiness among the cooks of the district when the Chief Minister gifted various welfare facilities including increase in honorarium in the interest of the cooks.

On this occasion, MLA Katehari Dharmaraj Nishad, while congratulating and best wishes to all the cooks of PM Poshan Yojana of the district, said that the state government has given priority to the interests of the cooks and has continuously increased their honorarium. He said that earlier cooks used to receive ₹1,000 honorarium, which was increased to ₹2,000 by the government and now it has been increased to ₹3,000 per month. He said that the efforts being made by the government keeping in mind the respect, safety and socio-economic interests of the cooks are commendable.

Administrator/former President District Panchayat Shyam Sundar Verma alias Sadhu Verma said that before the occasion of Rakshabandhan, important gifts have been provided to the cooks by the state government. These include increase in honorarium by ₹ 1,000, assistance of ₹ 2 lakh to the family in case of accident, cashless treatment up to ₹ 5 lakh per year and increasing the amount given for saree to ₹ 1,000. He said that the increase in the honorarium of the cooks along with providing accident aid and cashless medical treatment shows the sensitivity of the state government and its commitment towards the welfare of the cooks.

He said that cooks have an important role in the successful operation of PM Nutrition Scheme. Considering their contribution in providing nutritious and quality food to children in schools, the steps taken by the government to protect their respect, safety and interests are certainly praiseworthy.

Chief Development Officer Anand Kumar Shukla, while addressing the cooks, highlighted in detail the various schemes and facilities run by the government under the PM Nutrition Scheme. Appreciating the important responsibility of providing food to children in schools by the cooks, he said that the role of cooks is very important in improving the nutrition of children and the school environment.

The cooks present during the program expressed their gratitude towards the Chief Minister and the State Government and welcomed the welfare announcements like increase in honorarium, cashless medical facility and accident assistance. The cooks said that the decision taken by the government in their interest will provide them respect, security and financial support.

In the same sequence, in all other tehsils of the district also, in the presence of public representatives and concerned officials, the felicitation ceremony of cooks working under PM Nutrition Scheme and the cashless medical card distribution program for 3.54 lakh cooks of the state was telecast live.

At the end of the program, District Basic Education Officer Poonam Mishra thanked the guests and the cook sisters. District President Subhaspa was also present on this occasion.
