Botafogo will evaluate the work of interim coach Rodrigo Bellão and could appoint him as the club’s permanent head coach for the remainder of the season.
Bellão, who is the Under-20 coach, stepped in temporarily after Franclim Carvalho left the position vacant.
The stand-in boss guided Botafogo to a 1-0 victory over Cienciano in the Copa Sudamericana, although that result was not enough to overturn the 6-1 loss from the first leg.
Rodrigo Bellão is now set for another test in charge of the black-and-white side. Botafogo will host Athletico at 8 p.m. on Monday (24) at Nilton Santos Stadium in the Brasileirão.
Athletico are currently third in the table. After that, Botafogo will take on Flamengo, who are second, and Palmeiras, who lead the league.
If the club produces strong performances and/or positive results during this difficult run of fixtures, Bellão may be confirmed as the permanent coach.
So, do you think Rodrigo Bellão deserves to remain in the role? Or who would be the ideal choice?
