A Palghar schoolboy has appealed to PM Modi and CM Fadnavis for a bridge over Vaitarna Creek, highlighting the dangers students face while travelling to school. A video shared by Lokshahi Marathi has gone viral.
Palghar, Maharashtra: A schoolboy from Palghar has made an emotional appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, demanding a bridge over the Vaitarna Creek after students and local residents were reportedly forced to use a dangerous route to reach school.
In a video shared by Lokshahi Marathi, titled “When will a bridge be built over Vaitarna Creek? Students and residents demand action from the administration,” student Sohil Sunil Chaudhari highlights the difficulties faced by schoolchildren due to the lack of a proper road and bridge in the area.
“Honourable Prime Minister of India, Modi Saheb, you say all over the TV that children are the future of India. Then why isn't there a simple road for children of our age to get an education?” Sohil asks in the video.
He says that while he carries his school bag every day, he also carries the constant fear of death because there is no safe route for students to reach their school.
