Seattle Sounders appear to have found a new striker as they look to revive their season, according to breaking reports from The Athletic on Saturday.
MLS insider Tom Bogert, along with Fabrizio Romano, has reported that the West Coast side are close to "acquiring" Dejan Joveljić from Sporting KC. The agreement is set to involve a "$6 million cash trade."
The 27-year-old Serbia international has scored eight goals and provided one assist so far this season. Before joining Sporting, Joveljić made a major impact in MLS during his time with LA Galaxy.
He stood out as Galaxy went on to win the MLS Cup title in 2024, producing 21 goals and eight assists in 33 matches.
Those are the numbers Seattle will be hoping can help lift them from 12th place in the table.
