Aaron Holiday is taking the next step in his professional basketball career overseas after signing with Maxima Roma of Italy’s Lega Basket Serie A for the 2026–27 season.

The 30-year-old guard arrives in Italy after spending the last three seasons with the Houston Rockets and eight seasons in the NBA. Maxima Roma confirmed the signing on August 19, adding another experienced former NBA player to an ambitious roster ahead of the club’s debut season.

Holiday Brings NBA Experience to Rome

Holiday entered the NBA after being selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 23rd pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. During his NBA career, he also played for the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets.

His most recent NBA season came with Houston, where he averaged 5.5 points in 13.7 minutes per game. Despite playing primarily as a reserve, Holiday developed a reputation as a reliable guard capable of providing outside shooting, ball-handling and defensive intensity.

Maxima Roma Building an Ambitious Roster
