Automobile Desk: Harley-Davidson, which has made a strong hold in the premium two-wheeler market, has once again increased the prices of its popular motorcycle X440, giving a shock to the Indian customers. This time the automaker has made the mid-spec and top-end variants of the bike expensive. After this latest price increase, now customers will have to shell out more money than before to buy the X440 series. This is the second increase in a very short time after the price hike in June 2026, which has intensified the movement in the premium commuter segment.
New rates and increase as per variant
According to the new rate card released by the company, the ex-showroom price of the most premium 'T' model of X440 has now increased to Rs 2.86 lakh. There has been a direct increase of Rs 2,000 on this flagship variant. At the same time, the price of the mid-range 'S' variant has been increased by Rs 1,000, after which its new price has now been fixed at Rs 2.60 lakh ex-showroom.
However, it is a matter of relief that the company has kept the most economical 'Vivid' i.e. base model of this entire range away from this increase. Customers can still buy the base variant at the old price i.e. Rs 2.35 lakh (ex-showroom). After this update, the entire price bracket of the X440 lineup now ranges between Rs 2.35 lakh to Rs 2.86 lakh.
Mechanicals and Engine Setup
Despite the change in price, no new modifications of any kind have been made in the mechanical structure of the bike. The X440 continues to be powered by the same reliable 440cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. This powerful motor delivers power of 27 bhp and peak torque of 38 Nm.
For transmission, this powerplant is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Keeping in mind the smooth riding experience in heavy city traffic and on the highway, it has retained the use of slip-and-assist clutch technology, which makes the operation of the clutch lever quite light.
Features of Top 'T' Variant
Talking about the most expensive 'T' variant, which was included in the portfolio in the last months of the year 2025, it is technically more advanced than other variants. It gets an electronic throttle-by-wire system instead of the traditional cable. With the help of this advanced technology, the company has been able to provide modern features like traction control and multiple riding modes in it. Apart from this, this model gets a cosmetically new rear profile and stylish bar-end mirrors, which give it a sporty and premium look on-road.
competition in indian market
In the Indian automobile market, the Harley-Davidson X440 directly targets the middleweight segment with 350cc to 450cc capacity. Even after this price tag and rate revision, it will continue to compete directly with established motorcycles like Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Honda H'ness CB350 and Yezdi Roadster. Customers planning to add the X440 to their garage this festive season or in the coming days should visit their nearest dealership to confirm the new on-road rates.
