Apparently, investigators received information that Mehdi, who was spotted with Shahid Kapoor in Deva, was on his way to Dahisar Check Naka, allegedly for drug trafficking purposes.

According to authorities, they seized 28 grams of Mephedrone (MD) during the operation, which is believed to be worth Rs 5.6 lakh. According to an India Today article, a FIR has been filed against the actor under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with him named as the primary accused.

The actor was allegedly brought before a judge and held in police custody for five days.
