The Arabic action-thriller 7 Dogs, featuring Karim Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Ezz, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, has continued to see a slow response in India. On its third day in theatres (Sunday, August 23), the film collected around Rs 26 lakh gross at the Indian box office.
According to Sacnilk, the movie recorded an India net collection of Rs 24 lakh. The Hindi version contributed Rs 11 lakh, while the English version earned Rs 13 lakh.
Released in India on August 21, 7 Dogs arrived in dubbed Hindi and English versions after its original release in Arab countries in May. Despite the promotional buzz around cameo appearances by Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, the film has struggled to draw Indian audiences.
Made on an estimated budget of around $40 million, or approximately Rs 335 crore, 7 Dogs has recovered only a very small portion of its reported cost from its Indian theatrical release so far. Its Rs 26 lakh gross over the opening three days reflects the film's limited box office reach in the country.
