Mumbai: Uorfi Javed has built a career around being impossible to ignore, but the internet sensation has now revealed that behind the fame, viral moments and constant attention was a year filled with professional rejection. From cancelled shows and lost opportunities to fewer brand deals and being turned down by some of television’s biggest reality shows, Uorfi admitted that the past year was one of the most difficult phases of her career.

In a candid video shared on Instagram, Uorfi opened up about the setbacks she faced behind the scenes and revealed how several projects she had hoped would take her career forward eventually fell through. She admitted that the repeated disappointments left her “really upset” for months and made her question why things were not working out despite her continued efforts.

Follow Kar Lo Yaar Season 2 cancelled

One of Uorfi’s biggest disappointments came with the cancellation of the second season of Follow Kar Lo Yaar, the Prime Video reality series that gave viewers a glimpse into her personal and professional life.

According to Uorfi, the second season was cancelled just a month before filming was scheduled to begin. Having already expected the show to return, the sudden cancellation left her without a project she had been counting on.

Netflix show cancelled

The disappointment did not end there. Uorfi revealed that she had also been working on a Netflix project and had already shot an episode for it. However, the project was eventually cancelled despite production having already begun.

Uorfi also spoke about an opportunity to participate in Lock Upp. She revealed that she had received an offer to join the reality show and was interested in doing it, but a scheduling conflict prevented her from taking part.

According to Uorfi, one day of the Lock Upp shoot clashed with another project that she had already committed to. Since the earlier commitment could not be changed, she was unable to participate in the reality show.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that the shooting schedule of her other project was later postponed. By then, however, Lock Upp had already begun, and the opportunity was gone.

Replaced in Playground

Uorfi also revealed that she was replaced on Playground this year after previously working as a mentor on the show.

Bigg Boss 20 rejected Uorfi Javed too

After missing out on several reality television opportunities, Uorfi decided to approach the makers of Bigg Boss, hoping the popular reality show could finally give her the platform she was looking for.

She revealed that she had meetings with the Bigg Boss team, but things did not work out.

“They just rejected me,” Uorfi said, recalling the experience.

The rejection reportedly hit harder because it came after a series of other professional setbacks. Having already lost multiple opportunities, Uorfi was hoping that Bigg Boss would be the reality show where she could finally make her mark.

Instead, she found herself facing yet another rejection.

‘It was a year of rejection’

Looking back at the past year, Uorfi Javed described it as a period dominated by professional disappointments. Projects she expected to happen were cancelled, opportunities slipped away and reality shows she wanted to be part of did not work out.

She also revealed that her brand collaborations have slowed down. While she previously received several brand deals over a five- or six-month period, she now claims that she is getting around two deals in three to four months.

For a celebrity whose popularity has been closely connected to social media, fashion and brand collaborations, the change has been significant.

‘I was really upset for a few months’

Uorfi did not shy away from admitting that the constant rejection affected her emotionally.

She said she was “really upset” for several months as one disappointment followed another. She also addressed the pressure created by social media, where people constantly appear to be achieving more, buying expensive cars and reaching new milestones.

“Whenever I open Instagram, someone is buying a car or achieving something,” Uorfi said.

Her candid confession offered a glimpse into the reality behind the carefully curated world of social media. While celebrities often share their achievements and successes online, Uorfi chose to talk about the projects she lost, the shows that rejected her and the opportunities that never materialised.

Despite the setbacks, her decision to speak openly about failure has also highlighted that even a celebrity who appears to be constantly in the spotlight can experience periods of uncertainty and rejection behind the scenes.
