Mumbai: Actor and model Rohullah Mehdi, who appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor in the 2025 film Deva, has been arrested by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch in Mumbai in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case.

According to reports, police said that 28 grams of mephedrone (MD), valued at around Rs 5.60 lakh, was seized during the operation. Mehdi has reportedly been named as the primary accused in the case, while another man identified as Kasif was also arrested.

How was the actor arrested?

According to ANI, the police received information about MD allegedly being sold through platforms including Snapchat and WhatsApp. Acting on the tip-off, officers reportedly set up a trap using a decoy customer.

Kasif was allegedly called to an area near Thakur Mall at Dahisar Check Naka to deliver 28 grams of MD. Police arrested him during the alleged transaction, following which his questioning reportedly led investigators to Mehdi.

The actor was subsequently arrested outside a studio in Malad, where he was shooting at the time. He was produced before a court, which reportedly remanded him to five days of police custody. The investigation into the alleged drug network is ongoing, and authorities are reportedly looking into possible links and other individuals who may emerge during the probe.

Who is Rohullah Mehdi?

Rohullah Mehdi is an actor and model originally from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir and is currently based in Mumbai. He appeared in Shahid Kapoor’s Deva and has also reportedly worked in several web series.
