The decision to become an actor from a doctor and the journey without background

Vineet Kumar Singh’s story is an example of the fact that there is no age or limit to dreaming. Vineet Kumar Singh’s father, who hails from Banaras, was a mathematician. After winning a talent hunt in the year 1999-2000, Vineet moved to Mumbai. He had no backup plan. He left no stone unturned in his studies and was an MD in Ayurveda from Nagpur, but his real love was acting. Surviving in Mayanagari without any godfather was like chewing iron gram. Daily wage of ₹500, body double and the phase of becoming a corpse

The early days of Mumbai were full of troubles. Vineet started with small roles. He did a small role in Sanjay Dutt’s film ‘Pitaah’ (2002) and to survive in films, he even became a body double of Sunil Shetty. There came a time when he had to play the role of a dead body in films for ₹ 500. The watchmen used to chase him away from big production houses. During this he said ‘Wow! Also worked as an assistant director in the film ‘Life Ho To Aisi’ (2004). In an interview, he recalled that today’s well-known actor Ishaan Khattar was a child at that time, whom he used to carry in his lap on the sets. Wrote the story of ‘Mukkabaaz’ himself and sold everything

When opportunities stopped coming to him from others, Vineet decided to write his own destiny. He himself wrote the script of the film ‘Mukkabaaz’ and kept pitching it to directors for years. For this film, he even sold his car and personal belongings so that he could bear the expenses of rigorous boxing training in Patiala. Ultimately Anurag Kashyap took up this project and ‘Mukkabaaz’ released in 2018 changed his career forever. This film was an exposure of his real life’s determination and hard work.

After ‘Mukkabaaz’, Vineet did not look back. Vineet, who made some recognition with his acting in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, also spread his influence on OTT through web series like ‘Bard of Blood’ and ‘Rangbaaz’.
