Mumbai. Dronacharya Award-winning gymnastics coach Ganesh Devrukhkar has been accused by a 16-year-old student of molestation and attempted sexual exploitation in Mumbai's Vile Parle. Based on the complaint, Vile Parle police have registered a case against the coach under the POCSO Act and started investigation.

According to the complaint given to the police, the minor was studying at home on Friday morning. Meanwhile, the coach sent him a 'Hi' message on WhatsApp. The student replied and informed her mother about it. At the request of his mother, he asked the coach the reason for messaging him. After this the coach asked him to come to the gymnasium and asked when he was free.

The student, who has been learning gymnastics from a coach for many years, felt that perhaps she had been called for some training work. When she reached the gymnasium, the coach was alone there. The student alleges that the coach asked the student to keep her slippers inside and close the door from inside. After this, conversations started between the two regarding college and studies. The student alleges that during this time the coach pulled her towards himself by holding her left hand and forcibly made her sit in his lap. When she tried to get up from there, the coach grabbed her waist from behind and allegedly performed obscene acts on her.

According to the victim, when she started leaving from there, the coach allegedly told her that no one should know about what happened here. After this, the student took the help of a PT teacher and reached Vile Parle police station and lodged a complaint. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case under the POCSO Act and started investigating the allegations. Ganesh Devrukhkar has been honored with the Dronacharya Award by President Draupadi Murmu.
