The man, identified by the pseudonym Wei, lives with his wife, surnamed He, in Nanzheng District of Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, according to Sichuan-based Cover News.
The couple married in 2017 and have three daughters, including an 8-year-old and twin girls born in July 2025.
Wei began suspecting his wife of infidelity in 2024 after she started frequently leaving home, saying she was attending job interviews or meeting friends. On one occasion, members of his family reportedly saw her with another man.
The family also noticed that He would repeatedly unplug the home surveillance cameras and disconnect the car’s dashcam before going out.
In April 2026, Wei collected DNA samples from the twins and had them tested. The results showed that he was not their biological father.
He then arranged a paternity test for his eldest daughter, which produced the same result.
Unable to accept the findings, Wei ordered another test. His wife rejected the results, however, saying she would recognize only a formal forensic paternity assessment.
A fourth test, ordered by the court, subsequently confirmed that Wei was not the biological father of any of the three girls.

When the couple failed to reach an agreement over the terms of their separation, Wei filed for divorce in June.
At the first-instance hearing at the Nanzheng District People’s Court on Aug. 17, he asked the court to dissolve the marriage and order He to pay around 310,000 yuan (US$43,400) in reimbursement for child-rearing costs and compensation for emotional distress, according to China Newsweek.
During the hearing, He said she did not know who the biological father of the children was.
She offered to pay 10,000 yuan for each child to compensate Wei’s mother for helping care for them, but Wei rejected the proposal.
He also claimed that Wei’s family had known about the situation before the children were born and had nevertheless agreed to the pregnancies, an allegation Wei denied.
After several hours of proceedings, both sides agreed to divorce, with He retaining custody of all three children.
However, they failed to reach an agreement on compensation, prompting the court to defer its final ruling.
