JeM New Headquarters: Islamabad. About 15 months after Operation Sindoor, a claim has come to light that Jaish-e-Mohammed’s hideout has been rebuilt in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Some videos and pictures are going viral on social media. In these, changes are visible in the building of Markaz Subhanallah located in Bahawalpur. Especially the Central Hall has been given a new look. However, independent verification of claims to viral content and funding is necessary.

India attacked on 7th May

On May 7 last year, India had targeted Markaz Subhanallah of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur. This area is located in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Videos released after the attack showed extensive damage to the building. It was also revealed that the dome on top of the building was targeted. A large part of the complex was damaged after the attack.

The headquarters looked like ruins after the attack

Pictures and videos published in Pakistani media after Operation Sindoor showed the poor condition of the complex. Reports claimed that Jaish’s headquarters in Bahawalpur suffered heavy damage. Damage was reported to the building’s domes and interiors. Buildings used to house terrorists were also said to be affected by the attack.

Claim to give new look to Central Hall

After about 15 months, the changed look of the campus is visible in the material surfaced on social media. According to viral videos and pictures, plaster and paint work has been done in the Central Hall. New stone flooring is also visible on the floor. With these changes the hall looks much newer than before.

Claim for re-construction of madrassa and residences

Media reports suggest construction is being carried out in other parts of the complex as well. According to reports, Jaish has removed the damaged houses of Al-Sabir Madrasa and terrorists and constructed new ones there. The domes of the complex have also been claimed to be rebuilt. It has also been said in the reports that the craters created by the blast will be filled with concrete.

Claim of government funding of Rs 25 crore

Pakistan government’s funding is also being claimed for the reconstruction of Markaz. According to reports, the government gave an amount of around Rs 25 crore in different installments. Out of this, about Rs 11 crore is said to be spent only on the construction of the Central Hall. Independent verification of these financial claims is not evident based on available information.
