The French automaker Renault has been working relentlessly to grab a bigger market share in India. For this, it has already launched the new-generation Duster and has updated a few of its other models. However, to make sure that it becomes even more successful, it is gearing up to the launch of three new models. Today, we are providing you with the details of these upcoming Renault cars.

The Renault Triber has always been a strong value-for-money option for buyers who want an affordable seven-seater. However, one of its biggest drawbacks has been its naturally aspirated petrol engine. It feels very underpowered when the MPV is carrying a full load. So Renault is now expected to address this issue by introducing a turbo-petrol engine in the Triber.

The turbocharged version is expected to launch in September 2026, which will be closer to the Diwali festive season. It will use the same 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Kiger and make around 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque. This will offer a major improvement over the existing 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine, which produces 72 PS and 96 Nm.

Initially, the Triber Turbo is expected to be offered only with a six-speed manual gearbox. However, Renault could later introduce the Kiger’s CVT automatic as well. The turbo version will also retain the styling and equipment updates introduced with the latest Triber facelift. These will include its redesigned exterior and modernised cabin.

The Triber currently gets features such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control and six airbags as part of its 21 standard safety features. The turbo-petrol version is expected to cost more than the current naturally aspirated variants. The Triber is currently priced between Rs 5.81 lakh and Rs 8.69 lakh, ex-showroom.

The second major addition to Renault’s portfolio will be the strong-hybrid version of the new Duster. Renault has already launched the third-generation Duster in India with prices starting from Rs 10.49 lakh. Now, during the festive season, the company will be launching the Duster strong hybrid.

The Duster E-Tech 160 will use a strong-hybrid setup which will consist of a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.4 kWh battery and two electric motors. The combined system will produce around 160 hp and 172 Nm of torque. Renault says this system will let the SUV operate in electric mode for a major portion of typical city driving.

This will help in improving fuel efficiency without requiring external charging. The hybrid system will also use a multi-mode automatic transmission rather than a conventional CVT. Other mechanical highlights include four-wheel disc brakes and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Renault has also reported that the initial 2026 production allocation of the Duster hybrid has been fully booked, and its deliveries are expected around Diwali, and bookings for the next production cycle will reopen later.

The third and the last highly anticipated upcoming Renault model is the Boreal. This will become the brand’s flagship three-row SUV. It will be based on the same architecture as the Duster. However, it will get a longer body and a more distinctive exterior design. Renault’s three-row SUV is expected to compete with models such as the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV 7XO.

The Boreal will boast a sharper and more premium design compared with the rugged-looking Duster. The international model measures around 4.6 metres in length and gets features such as large alloy wheels, roof rails, a panoramic sunroof and a modern LED lighting setup.

On the inside, the SUV is expected to offer a feature-rich cabin with a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display, wireless charging and connected-car technology. It will also offer Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera and several premium comfort features. The Boreal is expected to use a turbo-petrol engine and could also get a strong-hybrid powertrain. It has been reported that the India launch timeline has moved to 2027.
