Palghar, August 24, 2026: A 19-year-old female student allegedly died by suicide at the hostel of an agricultural college in Asangaon in Dahanu taluka on Monday morning, triggering shock and concern among students and staff.
The deceased is a resident of Jawhar taluka. She was pursuing the second year of a diploma in agricultural education at VM Patil Krushi Pratishthan, an agricultural college in Asangaon, and was staying at the institution’s hostel.
According to preliminary information, the girl had reportedly been under mental stress for the past few days. However, the exact reason behind her death has not yet been established.
