World’s second most visited country welcomes 67 million international air passengers in 7 months

Spain, the world’s second-most-visited country after France, recorded 67 million international air passengers between January and July, up 5.2% from the same period in 2025, amid a tourism boom.
Spain’s tourism boom has benefited the economy.
According to figures from Turespaña, Spain’s tourism employment increased by 110,712 workers in July, up 3.7% from the same month last year, bringing tourism- employment close to 3.1 million.
The sector now accounts for 13.9% of all workers registered with Spain’s Social Security system.
Spain is forecast to welcome around 43 million international visitors between June and September 2026, marking a 6% increase compared to the same period last year.
