Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on August 24 hit back strongly at various statements and comments made against her in recent months. Referring to names like Ashutosh Rana, Sonu Sood, Taapsee Pannu and Baba Ramdev, Kangana clearly said that if these people have not achieved 'even 1 percent success' like her, then she will not listen to their advice at all.
Especially regarding yoga guru Baba Ramdev, Kangana said that he 'crossed every limit' in his statements. But how did the matter ultimately reach this aggressive stance of Kangana? Who said what first and whom did Kangana corner in response to which comment? Let us understand each link of this entire controversy.
Controversy begins: Kangana calls Gen Z 'gutter generation'
The roots of this controversy are to the statements made by Kangana Ranaut in July 2026 regarding Gen Z (today's young generation) and the student protests at Jantar Mantar. Kangana had expressed strong objection to the behavior and language style of some protesters and addressed them as 'Generation Gutter'. Citing videos to the demonstration on social media, he had sharply criticized the mannerisms of the youth. After this comment of Kangana, many prominent personalities associated with the film industry and public life had raised questions on her stand.
Sonu Sood said- 'This is very shameful'
Actor Sonu Sood had responded to Kangana's 'Gen Z gutterchhap' statement in July. Sonu Sood believed that the youth of the country should be addressed with respect and any public representative or artist should choose his words very thoughtfully while speaking on a public platform.
Sonu Sood had said that 'If he has said this then I think it is very shameful. This should not have been said. He further stressed that it is important to weigh one's words before speaking, because youth play the biggest role in making any artiste successful and hence everyone should take the youth along.
What answer did Kangana give to Sonu Sood?
In her statement given on August 24, Kangana took the name of Sonu Sood and said that he is teaching her to 'learn manners'. Kangana gave a blunt reply to her critics and said that she has no interest in listening to the advice of people who have not done anything equal to the success she has achieved in her life and career. That is, while Sonu Sood's main emphasis was on the language used towards the youth and their respect, Kangana took it as a personal comment against her and hit back.
What did Ashutosh Rana say about Kangana?
Senior actor Ashutosh Rana had expressed his views regarding Kangana's Gen Z comment. Instead of directly calling Kangana 'barking like a dog', he had explained that the real identity of any person lies in the words he chooses. Giving the example of nature, Ashutosh Rana had said that just as different creatures are identified by their voice, in the same way a human being is also identified by his behavior and the language he uses.
Kangana Vs Taapsee Pannu: Controversy erupted from 'cheap copy' to parenting
The rift between Kangana Ranaut and actress Taapsee Pannu is many years old. This matter came into limelight again recently when during a conversation with Taapsee, a question was asked about the differences to Kangana. Taapsee had said that she has never met Kangana in person and whatever opinion she has about her reflects her own upbringing, way of talking and world view.
After Taapsee's comment, Kangana, in a story on her Instagram handle (now deleted), called her a 'cheap copy' without naming her. After this, Taapsee shared a short post on social media without taking name by writing 'Hence, proved'. Now on August 24, Kangana alleged that Taapsee Pannu has publicly made fun of her upbringing and her parents.
Baba Ramdev Vs Kangana: Journey from 'Gutter Generation' to 'Har Maryada Langh Di'
The dispute between Kangana Ranaut and yoga guru Baba Ramdev has reached a different point. Responding to Kangana's statement calling the youth 'gutter generation', Baba Ramdev had mentioned Kangana's abilities, her childhood and her youth. Ramdev had commented that he did not know 'how his childhood has been, how his youth has been and what his earlier exploits have been like.'
Ramdev had further said that calling the youth of the country 'gutter generation' is a 'sign of someone's spoiled mind' and it is completely wrong. He had also suggested that senior leaders of Kangana's party should take cognizance of this statement.
Kangana considered Baba Ramdev's comment as a direct attack on her character and personal life. Immediately after Ramdev's statement, Kangana had made a sharp attack on social media and said that Baba Ramdev should not cook 'imaginary pulao' about her youth or her bedroom and should not teach her character lessons. In her reply, Kangana had also referred to the 2024 Supreme Court cases to Patanjali.
After this, on August 24, Kangana once again targeted Baba Ramdev and said that the way things were said against a woman has embarrassed the entire society and Ramdev 'crossed every limit' in the conversation.
Kangana's '1 percent' counterattack on August 24
On August 24, Kangana Ranaut gave a final reply to all the critics by combining all these controversies going on against her. He said that if a person has not achieved even 1 percent of the success he has achieved in his life, he is not obliged to listen to his wisdom or advice.
Kangana challenged and said, 'First you pretend to be Kangana Ranaut.' She clarified that she will only accept advice or guidance from people who are more successful, experienced and respected than her.
