Manchester United are unlikely to bring in any further players before next week’s transfer window deadline.

Michael Carrick’s team have been busy during the summer market and are close to completing a £65 million deal for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, which would make him the club’s fourth senior signing of the window.

Manchester United have reshaped their midfield resources after signing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, while experienced goalkeeper Karl Darlow has joined to provide back-up to Senne Lammens.

The Red Devils have also been linked with a further addition in attack and at left-back, but Sky Sports has reported that more transfer business is unlikely.

United have encountered difficulties in their pursuit of Newcastle defender Lewis Hall, with the 21-year-old, along with Arsenal full-back Myles Lewis-Skelly, currently considered too expensive.

The club’s inability to move players on this summer has also proved a stumbling block. Manuel Ugarte’s long-term injury prevented an exit for the out-of-favour midfielder, while Marcus Rashford has not attracted a buyer after returning from his loan spell at Barcelona.

In the same way, there have been no firm offers for Joshua Zirkzee despite tentative interest from Italy.
