DeMar DeRozan has been one of the more consistent and underappreciated scorers in the NBA over the past few seasons, partly because he hasn’t been with competitive teams.
But after signing with the Denver Nuggets following his buyout from the Sacramento Kings, DeRozan is playing for a potential contender for the first time since he was traded away from the Toronto Raptors to San Antonio for Kawhi Leonard in 2018.
DeRozan is entering his 18th NBA season and he averaged below 20 points-per-game for the first time since 2012-13 last season, posting 18.4 points and 4.1 assists-per-contest in 77 games. Denver is coming off of a third-place regular season finish in the West last year, but were upset by the Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. DeRozan is one of just 26 players in NBA history to make at least 9,000 field goals in their professional career with 9,563 under his belt. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?
