The teaser of ‘Mandaadi’, starring Soori in the lead, has been released ahead of its theatrical debut on September 4. Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, the film explores the world of a traditional boat-racing competition associated with Tamil Nadu’s coastal communities. The project marks the filmmaker’s second directorial venture following ‘Selfie’. The cast features Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindra Vijay, Bala Saravanan and Stun Siva, among others. Elred Kumar is producing the film under the RS Infotainment banner. He has also contributed to the screenplay along with R Mohanavasanthan and Thiral Sankar. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music, while the songs feature lyrics by Pa Vijay, Jayashree Mathimaran and Vaaheesan Rasaiya. SR Kathir has handled cinematography, with Pradeep E Ragav taking care of the editing and DRK Kiran working as the production designer. The action portions have been choreographed by Peter Hein, Dilip Subbarayan and Mahesh Mathew. With its coastal setting and competitive boat-racing backdrop, ‘Mandaadi’ is expected to present Soori in a distinct setting when it arrives in theatres.
