At that time the makers felt that removing the songs would reduce the length of the film and improve its pace. But when the film was released in theaters on August 5, 1994, the story changed.

The first song was Chocolate Lime Juice. This song became one of the most memorable songs of the film. It was written by Dev Kohli and Lata Mangeshkar's voice gave this song a special identity. The second song was Mujhe Juda Kar. This song was also sung by Lata Mangeshkar while the male voice was by SP Balasubramaniam.
