Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Center and Bhopal and Sports Youth Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh held a press conference on Tuesday regarding the new Khelo India Scheme. During this, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang said that the country’s budget of Rs 36441 crore has been kept for the new Khelo India Scheme till 2026-31. There is a budget of Rs 815 crore for Madhya Pradesh. There will be cast sharing of 60 and 40 ratio between the central and state governments.
Players will be identified from the school. This time the budget has been kept 8 times more than last time. In which 10 times more players will benefit. Planning will be done on the basis of local sports. The government intends that players should reach the Olympics from school. High performance training will be given, a systematic sporting ecosystem will be created. Emerging players will be given a separate identity and platform. Special attention will be given to the training and diet of the players. More and more competitions will be organized so that the experience can be increased. Along with this, AI and video based talent scouting will be done.
The department will work on three infrastructures namely Sports Infrastructure for Medal Strategy, Strengthening Strategic Sports Assets and State Action Plan for Sports Infrastructure Development. Minister Sarang said that the Center has given a new education policy by removing Macaulay’s education system. Sports have also been given special importance in this. To lay the foundation for India to take a good position in the Olympics by 2047, talent search will continue at the lower level. Training and regular competitions will be conducted in a scientific manner. Sarang said that if we want to hit the country, we have to keep the country fit. Word class coaching will be arranged for the players. Foreign and international coaches will be called for training the players. It has been included for financial assistance. Work is underway on a plan to build a stadium in every assembly. Feeder centers will be arranged for children aged 8-17 years.
