Actor Ashish Gokhale has described his experience working with director Priyadarshan and actors Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in the upcoming film ‘Haiwaan’ as extraordinary.
Speaking about his casting in the project, Gokhale expressed admiration for Priyadarshan’s extensive filmography. He said, “It’s Priyadarshan Sir’s film and so I couldn’t refuse. I’m a big fan of his films. He has done more than 99 films. So I had to do a film with him and by grace of God, I got this film.”
Gokhale recounted his first day on set in Kandivali and shared a moment that highlighted Saif Ali Khan’s humility. “Saif sir was very down to earth and it was an amazing experience. When I had my first day shoot in Kandivali, I went to the set. I got ready and went. There was Saif sir and was wearing a cap and I had some hair coming out of the cap. He came to me and said your hair is sticking out of your cap. Please ask your hairdresser to fix it. I was shocked. I didn’t know such a big star was coming to me. We didn’t know I was seeing him for the first time. He was so shocked.
He also praised Akshay Kumar, describing him as “amazing,” and recalled their time working together. “We shot 2-3 montages. We shot for 2-3 days with him. Akshay sir is amazing. He doesn’t have any attitude. Akshay sir used to come. He used to put his hand on my shoulder. He was so down to earth,” Gokhale added.
The official trailer for ‘Haiwaan,’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, was released on Tuesday, providing audiences with a first extended look at the film’s psychological tension and the intense confrontation between the two lead actors.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the psychological thriller marks the on-screen reunion of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after 18 years. The trailer presents a dark, neo-noir world centered on a dangerous cat-and-mouse game between a psychopath and a visually impaired man.
The film incorporates a neo-noir visual style, high psychological tension and an atmospheric score, creating a suspense-driven theatrical thriller. ‘Haiwaan’ is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn under KVN Productions and Thespian Films, with music composed by Ronnie Raphael.
‘Haiwaan’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on September 11, 2026.
