Nepal PM Balen Shah, in his first statement after the devastating flash floods, assured victims that “you are not alone” and that the state stands with them. He directed the mobilisation of the Army, police and Armed Police Force, while 100 hospital beds were reserved for victims. Over 250 people have been rescued as relief operations continue.
Kathmandu: Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah, popularly known as Balen Shah, has assured people affected by the devastating flash floods in Rasuwa and downstream areas that the government will stand by them with all available resources, as rescue and relief operations continue across the flood-hit region.
In a message to those affected by the disaster, Shah expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread destruction, assuring victims that the state would take responsibility for rescue, medical treatment, food and shelter.
“You are not alone in this difficult time. The state is with you with all its means and resources,” Shah said in a Facebook post.
